The newest issue of the Journal of Markets & Morality has been published online and print copies are ing.
This issue is the first with our new executive editor Kevin Schmiesing and our new book review editor Andrew M. McGinnis. You can read more about our transition in my editorial to the issue, which is open-access here.
In addition to our regular slate of scholarship on the morality of the marketplace, this issue includes two review essays (one by me here, one by former executive editor Jordan J. Ballor here). Mine focuses on two recent edited volumes on Orthodox Christian political theology and Jordan’s focuses on several books about Martin Luther and his 500 year legacy.
This issue also includes a special feature: a never-before translated text on the Classical Liberal school of economic thought from 1890 by the French economist Frédéric Passy, first (co-)winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. You can read David M. Hart’s introduction to the text here and Passy’s lecture here.
