When You Wear Your Hijab…
When You Wear Your Hijab…
Nov 15, 2024 6:00 PM

What is the reward that you should seek from Allah The Almighty when you wear your full Hijab (Islamic covering) that is in conformity with the injunctions of the Sharee‘ah (Islamic legislation)?

  • The reward of listening to, obeying and submitting to the command of Allah The Almighty and His Messenger, sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.

Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be admitted by Him to gardens [in Paradise] under which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein; and that is the great attainment.} [Quran 4:13]

  • It is an act of worship that draws you near to Allah The Almighty when you do it seeking His reward.

Allah The Almighty Says in the Qudsi Hadeeth (sacred narration): “…And whosoever approaches Me by one span, I will approach him by one cubit; and whosoever approaches Me by one cubit, I will approach him by one fathom, and whosoever comes to Me walking, I will go to him running…” [Muslim]

  • Allah The Almighty loves the Hijab, so seek the love and pleasure of Allah The Almighty by doing what He loves.

Allah The Almighty Says in the Qudsi Hadeeth (sacred narration): “…And the dearest thing to Me with which My slave draws himself closer to Me is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing voluntary acts of worship until I love him. If I love him I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks (something) from Me, I shall give him, and if he asks My Protection (refuge), I shall protect him…” [Al-Bukhari]

  • The reward of showing patience while obeying Allah The Almighty and refraining from disobeying Him, while enduring the ridicule of the ignorant majority of people as well as hot weather.

What a beautiful feeling when you endure the sweat that covers your face seeking the reward of Allah The Almighty, as if the discomfort does not exist! That is because whoever loves one, shows patience for the sake of his beloved. The hot weather can never cause you to leave the Hijab, as you understand well that {"The fire of Hell is more intensive in heat" - if they would but understand.} [Quran 9:81]

  • The reward of supporting Islam through supporting the Sharee‘ah-approved Hijab.

Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.} [Quran 22:40]

  • The reward of imitating righteous women and following their example.

‘Abdullaah ibn Mas‘ood, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and said, "‘O Messenger of Allah! What do you think of a man who loves some people but does not go any nearer to their position?' He replied: ‘One will be with those whom he loves.’" [Al-Bukhari]

  • The reward of adherence to chastity as you are commanded to preserve your honor, which is a rewarded act of worship, and Hijab, helps you to perform it.

  • The reward of protecting society from intermixing between the two sexes which leads to the spread of immorality.

Your adherence to the full Sharee‘ah-approved Hijab enables you and your Muslim sisters to confront the flood of corruption in your country. If the women who wear Hijab in your country are a minority, then wear it and intend to be the pioneer who guides other women.

  • The reward of reviving virtue and spreading it.

The society where all women wear the Hijab, should be a pure and chaste society. Your Hijab is a cornerstone in the building of virtue. So adhere to it strongly, because the storms around you are furious and if your faith is weak, your Hijab will fly away with the wind.

  • Seek the reward from Allah The Almighty as wearing the Hijab distinguishes the Muslim Ummah from the Jews, the Christians, and other nations.

  • The reward of cooperating in what is good and in piety.

Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {And cooperate in righteousness and piety} [Quran 5:2]

When you wear the Hijab, you actually cooperate with your sisters who also wear the Hijab in helping young Muslim men adhere to chastity and keep away from immorality and corruption. On the other hand, if you do not adhere to the Hijab you will tempt the young men and will be sinful whether or not you perceive it. The Prophet, sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “None of you becomes a true believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself." [Al-Bukhari]

We do not think you would like anyone to make you fall into Fitnah (trial) and forfeit your happiness in the Hereafter, so do not do this to others…

Hijab is a safety valve for society and its absence means destruction for the society.
