Do not disdain wearing Hijab
Do not disdain wearing Hijab
Nov 16, 2024 2:43 PM

  O my noble sister!

If you live in a non-Muslim country, or are forced (by necessity) to travel outside the Muslim countries that adhere to the Hijab (Islamic covering), do not disdain wearing your Hijab under the pretext that it is unfamiliar to the inhabitants of those (non-Islamic) countries, and that (by wearing it) you would attract their sight to you. That is, indeed, a devilish trick to remove your Hijab under any circumstance. Your religion, my dear sister, calls you to be distinguished (from the non-Muslims). It may be that Allah The Almighty guides, through you and your Hijab, heedless, ignorant hearts.

You should also remember that Hijab is not a custom, but an act of worship, through which Allah The Almighty commanded us to worship Him. It is impermissible for anyone to give a ruling pertinent to it depending on his personal reasoning after the ruling of Allah The Almighty, just as it is impermissible to give a ruling about prayer, depending upon one's personal reasoning, in the countries of disbelievers, after the ruling of Allah The Almighty on it. Would you respond to the call of him who asks you to abandon prayer in the countries of disbelief because you simply attract the sight of people to you? I do not think you would respond to this false call that is disapproved by your religion. Similarly, Hijab is an act of worship, just like prayer.

Then, how do you give yourself the right to make changes in the ruling of Allah The Almighty depending on your personal reasoning? Do you not recite the verse where Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.} [Quran 33:36]?

  My sister!

O you whose mouth has uttered (The Two Testimony of Faith): "There is none truly worthy of worship but Allah", in which your heart is certain, and upon which your body acts. Complete your religion with your Hijab, and pay no attention to the vile people and their devotees, for they only dictate sins and shame you in this worldly life and the Hereafter. Remember that the gate of repentance is always open as long as death does not befall you, and be certain that Allah The Almighty would never return you with failure, given that He Says (what means), {Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He Who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."} [Quran 39:53]

Before I conclude, let me remind you, my sister, of the conditions of the Hijab approved by the Sharee‘ah (Islamic legislation), which are as follows:

1- Not to have any ornaments like beads, or lace, or other things which make it like a bridal dress. It should have no adornment at all.

To put on the Abaaya (outer covering garment) over the head, and not over the shoulders, for to wear it over the shoulder is to imitate men; and it is impermissible for a woman to imitate men under any circumstances. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa salam, said: "Allah has cursed women who imitate men." Furthermore, scholars prohibited wearing the Abaaya over the shoulders because of the Fitnah (trial) it causes on the one hand, and its being a means of imitating men on the other hand.

As I have mentioned to you my dear sister, save yourself before it is too late. Seek the reward of Allah The Almighty every time you intend to put on this Abaaya, and consider with me, how many times you go out every week.

Every time you put on the Abaaya seeking the reward of Allah The Almighty, you would receive a great reward and uncountable good deeds that you will see in your account {On the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth.} [Quran 78:40]
