Which religion honors women the most? - II
Which religion honors women the most? - II

The Christian Scripture clearly states that pregnancy and childbearing, with all the pain and suffering they entail, are a punishment for the woman for tempting Aadam, may Allah exalt his mention. Thus, whenever a woman becomes pregnant or longs for her man, she must remember that this is a punishment for her sin and crime against the man whom she caused to be expelled from Paradise.

How far removed is this from what the Quran mentions : that the pains of childbearing are a merit for women and a reason for them being honored.

Allah The Almighty says (what means): {And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.} [Quran 31:14-15]

Because of the weakness and pain that the woman suffers from during her pregnancy, the Messenger of Allah, , gave the mother precedence over the father.

In a Hadeeth on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: “A man came and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, who among people most deserves my good companionship?’He said: ‘Your mother.’ He said, ‘Then who?’ He said: ‘Your mother.’ He said, ‘Then who?’ He said ‘Your mother.’ He said, ‘Then who?’ He said: ‘Then your father.’

Once again, which religion does justice to the woman?

It is strange that women are suppressed and persecuted not only by making them feel that pregnancy and childbearing are punishments for their sin, but also this suppression is further extended when they give birth to females!

Let us see what the Holy Scripture says about what happens to women who give birth to females and compare this to women who give birth to males.

The Book of Leviticus [12: 2-6] reads:

How does this compare to the words of the Messenger of Allah, , when he said: “The believer is not impure either alive or dead.”

What is even stranger is that the woman who gives birth to a female becomes unclean for double the period of impurity that the woman who gives birth to a male goes through.

The question is still raised: Which religion does justice to women?

  2. ”Say to the Israelites: ‘A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. 3 On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. 4 Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over. 5 If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding. 6 “‘When the days of her purification for a son or daughter are over, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a dove for a sin offering.

Thus, women are unclean during their menses, and they become unclean after childbearing.
