Watson's Biblical & Theological Dictionary

  called also Sedan-Aram in Hosea; both names denoting Aram or Syria the fruitful, or cultivated, and apply to the northern part of Mesopotamia, in which Haran or Charran was situated. See MESOPOTAMIA .
