Two Hebrew words are translated “yellow.” Yeraqraq ( Psalm 68:13 ) refers to gold strongly alloyed with silver or the sallow color of sick skin (Leviticus 13:49 ). Tsahob ( Leviticus 13:30 ,Leviticus 13:30,13:32 ,Leviticus 13:32,13:36 ) refers to the color of hair in a patch of skin that lets the priest know it is leperous. The basic meaning of tsahob is “shining” and represents bright red or gold. See Colors .
