In Philippians 4:22 , Paul the apostle sent greetings to the Philippian Christians from certain believers who were of Caesar's household. The phrase was used to refer to all persons, both slave and free, who were in the service of the emperor. In Philippians 1:13 Paul had indicated that the fact he was imprisoned for the cause of Christ had become well known throughout the praetorian guard. Quite possibly, some members of the praetorian guard were included among the believers of Caesar's household. See Caesar; Rome.
